Ishrat Jahan Ishita is currently serving as a Project Coordinator at the Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh (PRI), where she contributes to research, project implementation, analytical reporting, stakeholder engagement, and policy communication, particularly for a project related to remittance and digital financial inclusion. Her broader research experience spans fiscal policy, macroeconomic analysis, domestic resource mobilization, and social protection.
Her earlier work at PRI focused on public finance, national budget analysis, state-owned enterprises, fiscal data management, domestic resource mobilization, and macroeconomic trends. She also worked as a Consultant with Research and Policy Integration for Development, where she contributed to the development of a roadmap for Bangladesh’s National Social Insurance Scheme, with a focus on maternity insurance and institutional governance mechanisms. She has also worked with YY Ventures on development-oriented research and program support related to refugee livelihoods, youth entrepreneurship, and community-based economic initiatives.
In 2026, she was selected as a recipient of the Jack Lovell Fellowship by Kivu International, a UK-based think tank. Through the fellowship, she spent four weeks in London, gaining first-hand exposure to the UK policy and research environment and engaging with policy institutions, researchers, and practitioners.
