Munia Khan

Munia Khan is an Economist at the Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh (PRI), specialising in macroeconomic analysis, financial-sector development, trade and investment, and sectoral and financial analysis. Her research focuses on economic and policy developments, financial performance and competitiveness, monetary and fiscal policy, corporate bond markets, economic reform, and sustainable finance. She applies quantitative and qualitative research methods, complemented by stakeholder consultations, to produce evidence-based analysis for policy and investment decisions.

At PRI, she has contributed to research and advisory assignments in collaboration with leading international and development organisations, including the World Bank, FCDO, DFAT, IIX, and IFPRI, among others. Her work encompasses research, data analysis, and the preparation of policy reports, briefs, and presentations addressing key economic and financial-sector issues in Bangladesh.

Munia holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Economics. She is a nominated member of the National Accounting Wing Related Technical Advisory Committee of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics and has undertaken specialised training in national accounts, macroeconomic forecasting, data analytics, and visualisation.
